HANSA SMART KIDS
Aspiring the desire within the children for STEAM training, passion for researching and problem solving, The Kaunas Rotary club “Hansa” is organizing robotics clubs that are meant for the gifted children and the ones that are receiving welfare support. The robotics clubs are for children 2nd – 4th grade.
There are 9 kids that are selected and given LEGO WeDo 2.0 and tablets. At this point the kids enter a 14 – 18 weeks long training cycle (2x45mins a week).
The club has a robotics teacher that is trained and well acquainted with Lego Education method. During the pandemic the clubs’ activities can only happen via internet.
The most talented kids get the chance to participate in competitions.
Schools within Kaunas are encouraged to contact Hansa Rotary club without hesitation if they wish to host a robotics club.
Kaunas Rotary club Hansa is a partner and sponsor of volunteer program SOCIAL BREEZE.
SOCIAL BREEZE – is a volunteering program bringing in the winds of change towards locking in of the rules and result oriented everyday life of the students.
This program is for 7th – 10th grade students, encouraging social activities and bringing in new skill sets to the teenagers that help them to understand and practically use them not only for their individual goals and possibilities, but also helping them in their career of choice.
This is a tool for the education system and the teachers that empowers the teachers to introduce volunteering activities to the students.
At this moment there are 15 schools in Kaunas that have adopted this program. The plan for the near future is to implement this same program in Šiauliai, Panevėžys, Alytus, Klaipėda, Tauragė and Vilnius.

SOCIAL BREEZE
We have been cooperating with the Lithuanian Association of Genetic Neuromuscular Diseases "Sraunija" for many years.
This association unites families with patients with progressive and incurable genetic neuromuscular diseases.
As the disease progresses, muscles disappear, swallowing, breathing, heart work, digestive activity, patients are very susceptible to infections, all patients have a disability, most of them are severe, and many diseases lead to early death.
Kaunas Rotary Club supported the Hansa Association with two coughassist machines that are vital to the children's respiratory function, and we have been supporting the psychosocial Summer Camp for several years in a row. This camp provides an opportunity for the whole family to stay at the seashore, to communicate, to engage in activities that improve the psychological well-being of the whole family.
SRAUNIJA
We maintain continuity and achieve the best possible results by dedicating most of our support to our long-term partners.
However, we also contribute to individual projects or social initiatives where possible.
We donate bicycles to those who do not have the opportunity to purchase them themselves. We also help the families on the welfare support and strive to contribute to their well-being.
We also contribute to other Rotary club initiatives.
